Endoscopy centre
An endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to examine the insides of an organ in detail. An endoscope is a long, thin and flexible tube with an attached tiny video camera and light at the end. The images captured by the camera is displayed on a monitor, so the specialist can have a clear and detailed view of what is going on inside the organ.
Endoscopy is a safe and effective way to examine the lining of organs such as the stomach, colon, lung and bile duct. Minor surgery such as removal of polyps can also be done through endoscopy.
Both diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy are performed as day procedures. Patients do not need to be hospitalized for the procedures and can return home on the same day of the endoscopy.
